Raise both sides of the equation to the power 5.
Add 8 to both sides of the equation
The answer is x=1,032
Check the solution by substituting 1,032 in the original equation for x.
If the left side of the equation equals the right side of the equation after
the substitution, you have found the correct answer.
You can also check your solution by graphing the function
The above function is formed by subtracting the right side of the original equation from the left side of the original equation. The x-intercept of the graph is the solution to the original equation. As you can see, the x-intercept is 1,032, verifying our solution.
